Anesthesiology Residency Program
Our department actively encourages and supports resident research and quality improvement (QI) projects. We have faculty with particular research interests in the fields of transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac surgical outcomes, patient safety, medical education, and quality improvement. In addition to research interests, our department has a robust QI initiative with a focus on root cause analysis and systems improvement.
Importantly, two of our faculty members serve on the editorial board of prestigious journals. Dr. De Oliveira serves as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Anesthesia. Dr. Maslow is on the editorial board of the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia.
During residency training, residents will be expected to participate in a scholarly project that results in a presentation or peer-reviewed publication.
